🇺🇦🏛 Two Ukrainian museums have been named among the world’s 25 most influential museums in the MuseumWeek 2026 rankings.
The Kherson Regional Art Museum named after Oleksiy Shovkunenko and the Dnipro National Historical Museum named after Dmytro Yavornytskyi were recognized among more than 700 participating institutions.
The Dnipro Museum ranked 4th globally, while the Kherson Museum placed 24th. Last year, the Kherson Museum ranked 83rd out of 152 participants.
“This is an incredible result for a Ukrainian museum under extremely difficult conditions. We outperformed many renowned European and international institutions. The museum demonstrates the resilience and strength of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy even during the war. It continues to tell the world about its unique collection, the history of its looting during the occupation, efforts to recover stolen artifacts, and joint projects with Ukrainian museums and other institutions,” museum representatives said.
The MuseumWeek ranking evaluates museums based on their ability to engage audiences, promote cultural content, and encourage public conversations about art.
