Basically, physics is math with an understanding of it's meaning. Physics deals with reality and maths deals with logic. You have to be very good at math in order to be good at physics.
Personally, I am in favor of physics.

That is what i also tried to point out implicitly, math as a tool is great, math as a major is not so practical, like, it gets abstract once you complete linear algebra, so to get best of both worlds, physics a a major course and math as a minor go hand in hand, the math will more or less make a better physicist whether or not is is abstract, also, there are handful of physics courses that benefit from an abstract math knowledge.

Idt there's an applied math dept as far as I know in cncs it's just math and i would prefer statistics... I think it's more practical and versatile
