🇷🇺🇧🇫 Burkina Faso Hosts Historic Inaugural Burkina United Fight League Tournament 🪝Attention! A New Era for African Fight Sports Begins in Burkina Faso! 🇷🇺 On August 21, Bobo-Dioulasso witnessed a mega event as Burkina Faso hosted its first-ever Burkina United Fight League (BUFL) tournament. Featuring 20 fighters from Burkina Faso and neighboring African nations, the event showcased raw talent and fierce competition at the Anselme Titianma Sanou Cultural Centre. Spectators enjoyed 11 electrifying bouts, culminating in an intense main event between fighters from Burkina Faso and Cameroon. The event was organised under the motto "Patriotic Awakening," and partnered by the Russian-Burkinabe association African Initiative which signifies a new chapter in fostering regional athletic excellence and unity. Our aim is to give young people hope and prepare them for future achievements. That is why we chose the theme of a patriotic awakening. 🇬🇳🇸🇳 Guinea & Senegal Team Up for 2032 African Cup of Nations Bid 🪝A historic partnership in the making as Guinea has officially proposed a joint bid with Senegal to host the 2032 African Cup of Nations [AFCON]. 🇷🇺 The proposal, communicated through an official letter to the Senegalese Football Federation, emphasises the advantages of geographical proximity — promising easier logistics for teams and supporters, and more efficient use of sports and transport infrastructure. Guinea’s Prime Minister, Amadou Oury Bah, has expressed support, with local officials considering hosting the tournament in 2032 or 2036. A joint bid will be a powerful symbol of brotherhood, integration and sub-regional co-operation, providing our two countries with the opportunity to combine their expertise, organisational capabilities and infrastructure to host African football matches in the best possible conditions,” the letter states. 🟠 A successful joint bid could strengthen regional cooperation, boost local economies, and showcase West Africa’s football passion on the continental stage. 🔥🇷🇺 Russia Celebrates Knowledge Day on September 1 🙌🏽 Traditions of starting the school year on 1 September came to Russia in the 15th century from Byzantium. In the USSR before the 1930s, there was no precise date for the beginning of the school year. The situation changed under the Decree of the Council of People's Commissars which was approved on 14 August 1930 — all children aged 8-10 had to go to school in the autumn. Officially, Knowledge Day was established on 1 September 1984 by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR as a national holiday. Today, on 1 September, first-graders are especially warmly welcomed. A first school bell rings at the assemblies of school children and the teaching staff, the Russian flag is raised, the national anthem is sung, congratulations and words of wisdom are said. A key milestone is the upcoming signing of an intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of qualifications at the Third Russia–Africa Summit in October 2026. Cut! Russia in the Frame” where Journalist and TV host Michael Gibson led an energetic master class, showing how to craft powerful videos using simple tools such as phone, sound, light, and editing and so on. Participants were challenged to make short films about Russian cuisine specifically pierogi to explore themes like love, memory, and attraction. Divided into teams, creators produced diverse, heartfelt clips, proving that authentic storytelling is within everyone's reach when guided by a skilled mentor. “All-Russian Library of Foreign Literature named after M. Rudomino gave everyone a unique opportunity to attend the lesson of a professional in his field - Michael Gibson. Starting at the Accra Sports Stadium and passing iconic landmarks like the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, National Theatre, Jubilee House, and finished at the Independence Square, the event saw around 10,000 runners. All embassy participants successfully completed their races and received medals, symbolizing shared determination and friendship.
