IF A COMPANY HAS TOP-TIER SECURITY, IS IT SAFE FROM HACKERS?
Most people think yes.
But what if the attacker doesn't come through the front door?
Think about the SolarWinds attack in 2020.
The attackers didn't break into every target directly.
They compromised a trusted software update and used it as a way in.
That's a Supply Chain Attack.
Instead of attacking you directly, attackers compromise something you trust and use that connection to reach you.
Companies depend on:
Third-party vendors
Software libraries and dependencies
Trusted software updates
A common misconception:
❌ My code is secure, so I'm secure.
✅ I also inherit risks from what I depend on.
So if your own security is perfect..
Are you unhackable?
No.
You're only as strong as the weakest link in your chain.
Trust is the attack surface.
Sometimes, the way into a company is through something it already trusts.

HOW DOES AI KNOW AN APPLE IS A FRUIT AND NOT A PHONE?
Most people think AI simply reads words and understands their meaning.
But that's not quite how it works.
Meet Vector Embeddings.
Instead of storing meaning as words, AI turns concepts into numbers called vectors.
Think of it like a map:
🍎 Apple (fruit) → close to → Banana, Orange, Mango
📱 Apple (company) → close to → iPhone, Mac, iPad
The closer the vectors, the more similar the meaning.
That's why AI can understand that:
“tasty red breakfast fruit”
is probably talking about an apple — even when the word apple isn't there.
A common misconception:
❌ AI understands concepts exactly like humans.
✅ AI represents relationships mathematically and measures how close they are.
AI doesn't need to match the exact word.
It learns the relationships behind the words.

IS A DEGREE ENOUGH?
“ዲግሪ ከያዝኩ በኋላስ?”
We’re often told:
Study hard. Get your degree. Find a job.
But what if two students graduate with the same degree?
🎓 One has a degree.
The other has a degree + projects + skills + experience + a portfolio.
Who gets noticed first?
The difference isn't the degree.
It's what you built while earning it.
A degree gives you the foundation.
Your capacity is what you build on it.
Can you solve problems?
Can you build something?
Can you work with people?
Can you learn without being told?
“ምን ተማርክ?” ብቻ አይደለም።
“በተማርከው ምን መስራት ትችላለህ?”
So don't wait for graduation.
Start building NOW.
Learn. Build. Compete. Lead.
A degree opens doors.
Your potential determines how far you go.

HOW DOES A COMPUTER FIND THE BEST WAY FROM A TO B?
Imagine there are 100 possible roads to your destination.
Would you try every road?
Probably not.
You'd look at where you are, where you're going, and choose the path that makes the most sense.
That's the idea behind A*.
Instead of searching everywhere, A* asks:
“Which path looks most promising?”
It uses:
f(n) = g(n) + h(n)
g(n) → cost already spent
h(n) → estimated cost to the destination
The h(n) is called a heuristic.
❌ Search everything blindly.
✅ Use what you know to search smarter.
That's why A* is used in:
🗺 Navigation
🎮 Video games
🤖 Robotics
For competitive programmers, the lesson is simple:
It's not always about searching more.
It's about knowing where to look.

WHY DO SO MANY DEVELOPERS USE LINUX?
Windows can run VS Code, Git, Docker, and almost every development tool.
So why do many developers still choose Linux?
“Linux is better” isn't the whole answer.
It's about the development environment.
Linux makes it easy to:
• Use the terminal
• Automate tasks
• Manage packages
• Work with servers
But here's the interesting part.
A developer can:
Write code → Push to GitHub → Deploy to the cloud.
The laptop might be running Windows.
But the server running the application?
Often, it's Linux.
That's why Linux is common in:
🖥 Backend
☁️ Cloud
⚙️ DevOps
🐳 Containers
And Windows has WSL, so you can even use a Linux environment without leaving Windows.
So the real question isn't:
“Which OS is better?”
It's:
Which environment fits the way you build?
Linux
or
Windows
Which one do you prefer for development — and WHY?

THE FBI GOT HACKED.
BUT HOW DID IT HAPPEN?
Most people think security means protecting your own code.
But what if the weak point is a system you trust?
Your security is only as strong as the systems connected to it.
The FBI's job portals were taken offline after ShinyHunters claimed access to sensitive data -reportedly 2-3 TB.
The portals use Oracle PeopleSoft, a third-party platform with a critical vulnerability:
CVE-2026-35273
It could allow attackers to run code remotely without logging in.
While waiting to patch, many organizations blocked the vulnerable path.
But the attackers changed just one character:
/PSEMHUB/hub → blocked
/%50SEMHUB/hub → allowed
The firewall saw something different.
The server didn't.
And that's the lesson:
❌ “We blocked it, so we're safe.”
✅ “Patch it. Verify it. Keep monitoring.”
Security isn't only about:
Your code.
It also includes:
Your vendors + dependencies + servers.
Protect your front door.
But don't forget the keys you trust.
No system is completely secure.
