I note that Britian is planning to host global AI rules summit. Do you believe UK can be a trend setter in coming up with robust ways to regulate AI? In Fintech - they proved pioneers in opening up the regulatory landscape to Fintech newcomers through the regulatory innovation hub and sandbox- which are concepts adopted by regulators around the world. However in the case of AI - regulation may be seen to hamper progress rather than encourage it. Unless they take a progressive approach to encourage responsible AI. Any thoughts from the group?

Great discussion too about KYC, AML and digital identity and the ongoing battle of technologies using LiveID, or trying to circumvent it with AI generated deepfakes.

Google has announced Gemini 1.5 which is an order of magnitude more powerful that simple LLM implementations. ChatGPT is now moving to GPT-5. Meanwhile the risks remain the same. Anyone seen any good examples of GenAI being used badly?

In UK, the biggest crypto news this week was probably the donations by two crypto billionaires of £72 million to a political party. In the US meanwhile the latest changes to the Clarity Act are due to be considered by the Senate on 15th Sept. In other news, US President Donald Trump has downplayed risks posed by artificial intelligence following days of dire warnings by experts. One of the warnings came from a former Anthropic researcher who said "there is a strong chance that we could all die in the immediate future" if the current pace of development continued.
