I only learned it for, as I said, I was preparing to build, gathering used tires, glass bottles... So in the southern hemisphere it would be north facing, but considering my position in the equator then the glass windows that would gather the sun energy and 'charge' the mass in the walls would have to look up... In the end because of the mild weather all year round there would be no need to 'charge' the home for the winter. Plus, the work of taking tires up the mountain was pointless. You should build with whatever is available to you...
