Hey, everyone! Please read this progress update:
Last week, we announced a toolchain upgrade with breaking changes for tomorrow's release (September 1). That upgrade is now postponed because we'd rather get the transition right than rush it out. So, it will NOT be included tomorrow. We'll keep you informed about this so you have early notice. In the meantime, please check the following link, which provides important details:

Specifically, the app is a weight converter for kilograms and pounds. When you're finished, you can install the app directly on the same device to test its functionality. A written version where you can copy/paste the code is available here:
https://appdevforall.org/codeonthego/help/tutorials.html
Second, this video provides five helpful tips for customizing and operating the UI:

And, news about the toolchain upgrade: In next week's release (26.38), we plan to update the core development stack for the 64-bit app to Kotlin 2.3.21 and AGP 9.3.1. TOML-based version catalogs will also be available.
This will be a breaking change! If you install next week's release, you may need to follow the steps in our migration guide (link below) to update your projects. We strongly recommend backing up your projects before beginning migration.

Ben | ADFA · 4 · 1.5K · IMPORTANT: This post contains information about major toolchain upgrades occurring on September 15, 2026!
These changes are not merely incremental updates. They are a major leap forward for Code on the Go, providing greater stability, improved performance, and a standardized development environment so you can focus on Kotlin code instead of build configurations. As a result, this upgrade introduces breaking changes. Specifically, please prepare for:
Gradle 8.14.4 ⇨ 9.6.1
AGP 8.11.0 ⇨ 9.3.1
Kotlin 1.9.22 ⇨ 2.3.21

In Code on the Go, the Extensions Manager recently replaced the Plugin Manager. You can now manage your plugins and templates from one convenient location. If you haven't had time to check this feature out, you might be interested in our video quick guide:

Ben | ADFA · 1 · 647 · Hey, everyone!
You can now download release 26.38 of Code on the Go, which includes the new toolchain:
https://appdevforall.org/code-on-the-go/
Gradle 8.14.4 ⇨ 9.6.1
AGP 8.11.0 ⇨ 9.3.1
Kotlin 1.9.22 ⇨ 2.3.21
PLEASE NOTE: Due to these changes, your existing projects may not build until you follow the migration guide:
https://github.com/appdevforall/CodeOnTheGo/wiki/IMPORTANT:-Fix-project-breaking-changes-after-the-Gradle-AGP-Kotlin-toolchain-upgrade
A video version of the same guide is available:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgX7ewTEJ_E
CoGo 26.38 also includes a couple of changes I’ll mention here:
First, a "Made with Code on the Go" watermark can now be added to commits you make from the Git bottom sheet. Because that code often ends up on a public host like GitHub, the watermark tells reviewers that the contribution came from a phone-only workflow, and puts Code on the Go's name in real, working code out in the world. You'll see a preview of the watermark in the bottom sheet before you commit. You can turn the watermark off for a single project right from the commit section of the Git bottom sheet, or disable it everywhere in Preferences → Git.
Second, a new Document Outline is available for Java, Kotlin, and XML files, so you can jump straight to any class, method, or field instead of scrolling.
For complete information on these changes, please see the release notes:
https://appdevforall.org/code-on-the-go-release-notes-26-38/
Finally, please visit our support forum if you have questions, want to post one of your projects, or would like to talk with other CoGo users:
https://github.com/appdevforall/CodeOnTheGo/discussions
Thanks for using the app!

The app now reads those numbers correctly, so projects using the newer SDK versions should work normally. You can download release 26.38.1, which includes everything from 26.38 plus this fix:
