BREAKING: OpenAI just APOLOGIZED and ADMITTED their AI agent breached not one, but FOUR Australian government departments "We are sorry and working to do better in the future." The breached agencies: 1. Services Australia (Medicare) 2. NSW Crime Statistics (BOCSAR) 3. Victoria Department of Health 4. Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) The breach happened in June. OpenAI found it in mid-August and didn't tell Australia until Sept 10. AIHW was only told the day after independent researchers exposed it

Aleph Alpha released Kolibri, a 78B-parameter, 3.46B active, MoE open-weight model with 1M context window, distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. Aleph Alpha is a German AI lab, and it is probably the first general-purpose model from the EU, apart from Mistral, to achieve this level of performance! > "The model supports an explicit reasoning mode and tool calling. It is optimized for long-context and inference efficiency." > "The Aleph Alpha team developed a bilingual German/English tokenizer and focused on including organic German data throughout the training process of the model, so that 21.3% of the pre-training tokens are German." > "Kolibri was built with the EU AI Act, the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice and the GDPR in mind from the ground up, with copyright law being a focus of our work to trustworthy technology." More EU labs joining the party 👀

🚨 BREAKING: AI can now take apart almost any game or software and rebuild it. People are using it to mash games together. - Minecraft mechanics inside GTA. - Spider-Man inside a Batman game. - Mirror's Edge parkour inside Skyrim. It all works, and it only takes prompting. How it started 👇 > OpenAI released GPT6 Astra. > On a benchmark for reverse engineering software from its binary, it succeeds over 99% of the time within four attempts. > Claude Opus 5.5 reportedly does even better. It has already decompiled - Mario Kart 64 - Halo - Kingdom Hearts and more. The same logic applies to Photoshop, Office and operating systems.

Three ways people use it: 1️⃣ PASS-THROUGH MOD The AI builds a bridge between two running games. > A Minecraft player places TNT > the bridge tells GTA to spawn an explosion at the same spot. > Both engines stay in control, so collisions and physics can break. 2️⃣ REBUILDING THE WHOLE GAME The AI works out the - animations - maps - models - mechanics then rewrites the game in a new language, usually Rust. You must own the game but once it runs on your own engine you can change anything. Results so far: - World of Warcraft on a skateboard - Call of Duty merged with Minecraft - Super Mario Galaxy in VR - PS5 games on PC. 3️⃣ PORTING ONE MECHANIC The AI lifts a single system from one game and drops it into another. > Mirror's Edge parkour went into Skyrim in about a day. > Skate 3 physics went into Call of Duty. > It is copy and paste for game design.

🚨 HOW TO DO IT: AI GAME MODDING, STEP BY STEP AI-assisted game modding is getting seriously interesting. The basic idea is simple: > give an AI coding agent access to the right reverse-engineering/modding tools > an example project > then let it - inspect - code - build - test - iterate on the mod. The important part: > use an AI agent running on your PC like codex or claude code, not just a normal chat window. > The agent needs to be able to inspect files, modify code, run builds, and test the result. best results with so far are Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra.

1️⃣ PASS-THROUGH / MASHUP MODS This is the easiest route for some cross-game ideas. Instead of rebuilding everything, you run both games and make them exchange information. For example: > Game A provides the world/characters/mechanics. > Game B acts as the host A bridge connects the two Universal Modder has a dedicated mashup skill - covering passthrough mods - cross-game mechanics - rendering/collision integration - other approaches. 🔗 https://github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder Alternative: 🔗 https://github.com/morluto/rea REA is a broader agent-oriented reverse-engineering toolkit that can investigate software behavior down to native binaries.

2️⃣ REVERSE ENGINEERING → REBUILDING When a normal mod isn't enough, you can go much deeper. > Use a reverse-engineering/decompilation tool to understand the game's executable > then have the AI help reconstruct the relevant systems in a new codebase. Useful tools: - Ghidra MCP — connects Ghidra's reverse-engineering capabilities to AI agents 🔗 https://github.com/bethington/ghidra-mcp - IDA MCP — official Hex-Rays MCP integration for IDA 🔗 https://github.com/HexRaysSA/ida-mcp - ILSpy — excellent for .NET games 🔗 https://github.com/icsharpcode/ILSpy - Cpp2IL — useful for Unity IL2CPP analysis 🔗 https://github.com/SamboyCoding/Cpp2IL Important: decompiling a game does NOT magically give you a clean source code project. The usual process is: Reverse engineer → understand systems → reconstruct → compile → test → repeat.

3️⃣ PORTING TO A NEW PLATFORM The same idea can be taken further: reconstructing or adapting a game so it can run on another platform. > For example, the PS5 scene now has projects exploring native Windows/Linux execution of PS5 software. > AnyPS5: 🔗 https://github.com/boykopovar/AnyPS5 > PortPS5: 🔗 https://github.com/yuriolive/PortPS5 4️⃣ PORT ONE MECHANIC You don't have to port an entire game. You can target one idea: > "Put the movement system from Game A into Game B." > "Add Game A's enemy type to Game B." > "Recreate Game A's inventory mechanic inside Game B." Universal Modder's mashup skill is specifically designed for this kind of cross-game work. THE PROMPT There isn't a magic prompt. Start with the idea, then let the agent investigate the technical route. For example: I want the grappling-hook mechanic from Game A recreated in Game For a cross-game passthrough: I want Game A and Game B running simultaneously, with [specific mechanic/state] transferred from A to B. First determine the safest/lightest architecture, then implement a minimal vertical slice and test it. The important trick is to start small. Don't ask the AI to "rebuild the entire game" immediately. Get one mechanic working. Test it. Fix it. Then expand.
