📖 Galatians 3:1-29 (KJV) – The Christian Is Justified by Faith, Not by the Law Many professing Christians today are making the very same mistake the Galatians made. They begin by trusting the finished work of Christ, but then someone comes along and tells them they must keep the law, keep the Sabbath, be water baptized, keep feast days, follow dietary laws, or perform religious works to remain accepted by God. Paul calls this foolishness. ✝️ 1. The Christian Life Begins and Continues by Faith «"Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?" (Galatians 3:2)» The Galatians did not receive the Holy Spirit by keeping Moses' law. They received the Spirit by believing the gospel. No amount of law-keeping saves anyone. Today, we are saved by believing the gospel that Christ gave to Paul: 📖 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV) - Christ died for our sins. - He was buried. - He rose again the third day. The moment we believe, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). --- 📜 2. The Law Cannot Justify Anyone Paul says: «"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse." (Galatians 3:10)» If someone wants to live under the Law of Moses, they must keep every command perfectly. Break one command and you are guilty. James confirms this: «"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)» The law was never given to save sinners. It reveals sin. It condemns sinners. It shows us our need for a Saviour. --- ✝️ 3. Christ Redeemed Us From the Curse of the Law «"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us." (Galatians 3:13)» Jesus took the punishment we deserved. He bore the curse upon the cross. There is nothing left for us to add. Religion says: "Do more." Grace says: "It is finished." --- 🌍 4. Salvation Comes Through Faith Paul points back to Abraham. «"Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." (Galatians 3:6)» Notice carefully. Abraham was declared righteous because he believed God, not because he kept the Law. The Law had not even been given yet. God has always justified people by faith. Today, both Jews and Gentiles are justified through faith in Jesus Christ. --- 📖 5. Why Was the Law Given? Paul answers the question himself. «"It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come..." (Galatians 3:19)» The law served as a schoolmaster. It exposed sin. It showed mankind they could never earn righteousness. It pointed people to Christ. But Paul says: «"After that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." (Galatians 3:25)» Those in Christ are not under the Law of Moses. --- ⛓️ 6. Stop Going Back Under Bondage Many churches today place believers back under laws and traditions. They tell people they must: - Keep the Sabbath. - Keep Israel's feast days. - Follow Jewish dietary laws. - Be water baptized for salvation. - Mix grace with works. Paul warned against exactly this. Adding works to grace destroys grace. «"Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" (Galatians 3:3)» The Christian life is lived by faith, not by fleshly performance. --- 👑 7. Every Believer Is One in Christ «"There is neither Jew nor Greek... for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)» In the Body of Christ there is no spiritual class system. Every believer has equal standing before God because we are accepted in Christ, not because of nationality, works, or religious status. --- ✨ 8. Heirs According to the Promise «"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29)» Believers today are blessed through God's promise fulfilled in Christ. Our inheritance is based upon God's grace—not our performance. That is why salvation is secure in Christ and not dependent upon our ability to keep the Law. --- 📖 Final Thoughts Galatians 3 destroys every system that mixes grace with works. The Christian is: - Saved by faith. - Justified by faith. - Sealed by the Holy Spirit through faith. - Blessed through Christ by faith. - Complete in Christ, not in the Law. Do not let religion place you back under a yoke that Christ has already delivered you from. Believe the gospel. Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free.
