🚨 BREAKING UK: NCSC WARNS AI AGENTS COULD CREATE A NEW CYBER RISK What happened: The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has issued fresh guidance on managing the cyber risks of “agentic AI” — AI systems capable of planning and taking actions with limited human intervention. The NCSC says organisations need safeguards, sandboxing and active oversight as these systems become increasingly capable. Why it matters: AI agents can do more than generate text or code. They can potentially interact with systems, access data and take actions on a user’s behalf, creating a new security challenge if they are compromised, manipulated or given excessive permissions. ⚠️ Key risk: A compromised or poorly controlled AI agent could turn access to legitimate systems into a pathway for real-world cyberattacks. 🛡️ Security advice: • Keep AI agents isolated from sensitive systems and data. • Apply strict least-privilege permissions. • Monitor and review high-risk actions performed by autonomous AI.
