Set Apart In modern language, "holy" often means something religious or spiritual. But in the Bible, “holy” simply means “set apart.” It means something (or someone) different and distinct from everything else.  God is unlike any other gods the nations knew. The Lord is holy, and called His people to be distinct—or holy—too. Some of the distinctions that set the Israelite practices apart were religious and spiritual. They offered sacrifices in a certain way and had specific instructions for how priests, worship, and the temple operated. Other practices that set Israel apart involved everyday things like food, clothing, and their weekly calendars. These habits and customs were meant to reflect and reinforce that they were truly different—or holy—because they belonged to God. The fourth commandment given to Israel is to "remember the Sabbath day" and keep it holy—a reminder to Israel of the blessed pattern God laid out in Creation. Just as our Holy Creator worked for six days and rested on a seventh, He calls His holy people to do the same. What's holy about the Sabbath? It's a day set apart to be different from all the other days of the week. God intends for one day a week to look and feel different. As people who belong to Him, we can delight in His designation of some days as productive days for work and then other days set apart for reflection and refreshment. Remember, God created special times for rest—keep those times set apart.

🚨 FLORIDA JUST TOOK A MAJOR STEP AGAINST TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS Gov. Ron DeSantis is implementing a new Florida law that gives the state a permanent statutory mechanism for designating terrorist organizations — going significantly beyond the executive action he took last December. Florida’s announced designations include: 🔴 Muslim Brotherhood 🔴 Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) 🔴 Antifa And Florida is moving to recognize more than 90 federally designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations under state law, including: • Sinaloa Cartel • Tren de Aragua • Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) • Cartel del Noreste • Cartel del Golfo • And dozens of others This is important because this isn’t simply rhetoric or another executive proclamation. Earlier this year, DeSantis signed HB 1471, establishing a formal process through Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement for terrorist designations. The law gives Florida enforcement mechanisms tied to those designations. Once designated under the statutory process: ⚠️ State and local governments are prohibited from providing taxpayer funding, contracts or other public support to designated organizations. ⚠️ Public universities, schools and other taxpayer-funded institutions cannot use public resources to support or promote them. ⚠️ Florida law establishes criminal penalties for knowingly providing material support or resources to designated terrorist organizations. ⚠️ Designated organizations may also face dissolution under circumstances provided by Florida law. There is an important distinction here: This does NOT mean that the federal government has designated CAIR or the entire Muslim Brotherhood as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. This is FLORIDA using its own state terrorist-designation framework. Want a Clean Heart? King David made some great decisions, but he also made some terrible ones. During his reign, David chose to abuse his power by sleeping with the wife of one of his military leaders, and then arranging for him to be pushed to the front lines of battle—where he was killed. For someone who was considered “a man after God’s own heart,” David really messed up.   In 2 Samuel 12:13, we see David confess his sin against the Lord and in Psalm 51, we see his prayer to be made new:   “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51 : 10 ESV   David failed, but God redeems. God restores. David still had to face the consequences of his decisions, but in that journey, God met him there.   If you want to be made new by God but believe that your past is too messed up, you can follow the path David showed us—confess, repent, and ask God to make you new. You can even use David’s exact words as you pray: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."   When we seek God, we realize that He’s already been seeking us.    God is faithful. He loves you. He can make your heart clean. In Him, you can become a new creation.
