"On July 27, 2026, the Government of the Republic of Chad notified the United Nations Secretary-General—the depositary of the Rome Statute—of its sovereign decision to withdraw from the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court," read a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 👀The document states that this decision follows an analysis of the ICC's activities, which Chad deems ineffective and biased against Africa. For instance, it notes that the vast majority of ICC investigations concern African countries, demonstrating the politicization of its operations.
