𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗥. 𝗞𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗞𝗨𝗘𝗧 𝗗𝗨𝗣 Dr. Khat Kuet Dup was arrested yesterday at Nyinenyang Primary Hospital while he was on duty, serving patients and working to save lives. Dr. Khat Kuet Dup is a graduate of Jigjiga University’s College of Medicine, Class of 2026. He graduated with high honors and was recognized for his outstanding academic achievements. Following his graduation, Dr. Khat was offered a position at Degehabur General Hospital. However, he chose to return to Gambella to serve his own community, where his medical expertise and service are greatly needed. A young medical professional who dedicated himself to serving his people does not deserve to be humiliated or treated unjustly. Healthcare workers must be protected and respected for the essential services they provide to our communities. If there is an issue against Dr. Khat, it should be handled through a fair and transparent legal process, not through violence or humiliation. We call for his immediate release, respect for his fundamental rights, and due process under the law. Any allegations against him should be addressed through a fair, transparent, and lawful process.
