UPDATE Dr. Khat Kuet Released from Custody According to reports, the incident began with a dispute between the hospital's CEO and the Medical Director over four months of unpaid duty allowances for staff at Nyinenyang Primary Hospital. After the Medical Director questioned the CEO about the delayed payments, police were reportedly called to arrest him. While on duty, Dr. Khat Kuet questioned why only the Medical Director was being arrested if both parties were involved in the dispute. Police allegedly assaulted, injured, and arrested Dr. Khat Kuet along with several hospital staff. He was taken into custody while still wearing his medical gown. Dr. Khat Kuet and his colleagues have now been released. However, he remains injured, and the circumstances surrounding the use of force remain unclear. The reported dispute was over unpaid duty allowances.
