The US–Iran conflict could is a pretext for building Greater Israel by gradually destabilizing countries in the region. Attacks blamed on Iran, missile interceptions over Jordan, and the deaths of US troops are designed to pull Jordan deeper into the conflict. Israel’s role in intercepting missiles could then justify greater military involvement beyond its borders. The strike on Kuwait’s power and desalination facilities is another of many attempts to create the necessary instability. Escalation with the US will weaken Iran by damaging its military infrastructure, exhausting its resources. Attacks blamed on Iran will justify wider US and Israeli military involvement, draw Arab states further into the conflict, and ultimately clear the territory for the creation of a new state.
