Son and I learning how to cut up a Chuck Roll into the different muscle parts. It was a fun learning experience but I know we have room for improvement! We got out of this: 4 Chuck Roasts, 6 Denver steaks, 6 Chuck Eye steaks, 2 Sierra steaks, 1-gallon bag of stew meat, 1-quart bag of fat for tallow, Some tough connective tissue to cook with bones to make bone broth. The only thing I threw out was the plastic bag it came in.

So how much was a "chuck roll" per pound....and how many pounds?

That's not bad at all. DM Patriot does this often....talks about it in our Prepper and Admin groups. I've just never bought one myself. Probably should!!

If you have a grocery store where they cut meat ask if you can order some...

Wonder if stores do that anymore. I miss that.

TerrieQuestion. I just made mayo. Used the same recipe I’ve used several times but it’s runny. Any ideas as to why or how I can fix it?
When that happened to me it was adding the ingredients in the wrong order. I think it's thicker and creamer using the yolk as well. There is a Gordon Ramsay video out there, pretty old now, over 5 years, I think with a very easy, straightforward recipe, you might look for it. He did 2 but you want the one with the least ingredients, just your basic eggs, oil, salt and pepper with a splash of white wine vinegar.

Yes. I don’t get it. I’ve made it successfully a few times. I tried it all over again and with the same result. Very runny 😕

There’s a simple recipe using a boiled egg. Not tried it myself but sounds straight forward. I like how it doesn’t use a raw egg.

What can I add to sourdough to make it less crumbly?

Just regular white flour, not much else available where I live.

Wow! I smelled this yesterday evening after it sat in the sun all day and the mint aroma was STRONG! (Smaller jar). I have it in the refrigerator and will strain the leaves out later.  I love mint steeped in black tea and I'm going to add a small amount to a small batch of my next batch of ice cream to see how it turns out.

My favorite squash dish is layering zucchini, yellow squash, onion, tomato with salt pepper and garlic and butter. Yum
