The playboxes for these upcoming Apollo XM Anomalies are highlighted on the Intel Map! In Singapore, 304 portals have been ornamented in a 1km by 1.6km playbox. In the Central Business District of Denver, the playbox is about 1km by 800m and counts 351 portals. Niantic announced all details on the event for September, Operation Luna, celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival! The event will run from September 1st @ 1800 UTC to September 30th @ 1800 UTC. During this event, the Ingress Scanner will feature the following temporary changes: 🔸 Portal Key drop guaranteed upon hacking if the Key is not already owned (does not apply to Drone Hacks) 🔸 Peace Beacon and a newly added Toast Beacon Kinetic Capsule program distance will be set/reduced to 1km if you start the program within the Event window Additionally, four Campaigns will be available for all Agents, each themed around Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. Operation Luna 2026 - Free Starts September 1st 8 Assignments, 3 bounties per Assignment (must complete all 3/3 to advance). Rewards the Operation Luna 2026 medal, 2,500 Apollo Tokens. Moon Rabbit 2026 - 20,000 CMU Starts September 1st 4 Assignments, 4 bounties per Assignment (complete at least 3 to advance). Moon Rabbit 2026 Medal awarded on completion. The Mid-Autumn Festival Event, Operation Luna, has started and it brought some interesting new sights on the Ingress Scanner! 🍂 Leaves have started falling in the Scanner! Enable Seasonal Effects in the settings to see them! 🙋Hank Johnson or Debra Bogdanovich will alert the Agent's about the newly started Campaign, suggesting to visit the Dispatch screen. Agents around the world have reported that about an hour ago the Operation Luna 2026 as well as the Premium Moon Rabbit 2026 Campaigns disappeared from the Dispatch screen. This seems to affect all Agents and does not seem to be limited to just a certain number of players. This does not, actually, seem to affect all players, although we are not sure why some are affected and others are not. At the moment, we have not received an update from the Ingress team regarding this issue. While the Campaigns are missing, we strongly recommend to pause and wait if you are currently trying to complete the Campaign Bounties, especially if you want to complete the Daily Bounties task. We don't know if the Campaigns are still crediting your actions in the background, and it is possible that these will not be backfilled once the Campaigns return. The Ingress team has posted an update about the disappeared Campaigns and is currently working on restoring them for Agents that cannot yet see them again. They are advising that you should regularly try to restart the Scanner to see if they have appeared again. To make up for the issue, the Operation Luna and Moon Rabbit campaigns have been extended by one week, to Wed Oct 7 at 18:00 UTC. Agents on Android are reporting some issues with C.O.R.E. not being renewed on time today, possibly due to an issue on the side of Google. If you subscribed to C.O.R.E. right when it was released, your subscription should have been renewed in the last few hours. However, even though Google Play is billing for the new month, their systems have not been sending the actual purchase confirmation to the Scanner instantly. Because of this, the Scanner may show that you have lost your subscription benefits. There is currently no confirmed way to trigger the transaction confirmation from the side of Google, however it seems like simply opening the Scanner might help as it will likely try to request a status update from Google. Shortly after, Agents have reported that they have received the usual subscription receipt in their email account, and the Scanner updated right after. This does not seem to affect iOS Agents, and this issue does not seem to stem from Niantic Spatial themselves. @IUENG

🎉 10 years of Ingress Updates! Today, Ingress Updates in English turns 10 years old! Through a decade from our first post on September 13th 2016, we saw our beloved game and its community change so much. Old faces, new players, new scanners (!), a new faction, a new old Niantic, but always with the same, unchanged and unwavering love for what is more than just a game. From the staff of Ingress Updates a heartfelt thank you to all of our members, that allowed this channel to continue operating for the past 10 years. In the coming days, a few longer form posts from members of the staff will be posted, looking back to this decade of IUENG and the story of the channel. We want to look back together with you as well! Recount your favourite story, post your favourite image or anything else from the last 10 years of Ingress and post it on Bluesky. Niantic announced a bounty rotation for Second Sunday events! Starting on October 11th, the "Scout Control 5 all-time unique Portals" bounty will be retired from the Second Sunday Campaign in favour of a new "Capture 1,000 MU" bounty. 🛰 Mission Day Darmstadt & NL-1331D Ingress Mission Day "City of Science" in Darmstadt, Germany is in the books, and it was a huge success! 263 agents joined from Germany, France, Poland, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium to explore Darmstadt's role as the "European Houston", home of ESA's space operations, tying in perfectly with Ingress's ongoing Apollo theme. Between great weather, a full day of missions, city sightseeing, and an evening wind-down at the market square, Agents were able to spend a great day (or weekend!) of Ingress with friends from both Factions! A big thank you goes to organizers MTBJo (RES) and AgentOrome (ENL) who compiled this SITREP for you all to read and shared it with us. @IUENG

Niantic announced a new event for the month of October: Cygnus Global Battles! This event will run from October 1st @ 18:00 UTC to October 28th @ 18:00 UTC and Agents will need to compete, Faction vs Faction, by deploying and fighting in Battle Beacons. A three-tier individual medal will be available for all agents, regulated by a Campaign: 🥇200 Battle Beacon Combatant interactions 🥈50 Battle Beacon Combatant interactions 🥉5 Battle Beacon Combatant interactions An Interaction is one of the following actions: Deploying or upgrading Resonators, attacking or destroying Resonators, destroying Portal Mods, destroying Links, and recharging Resonators. During the Event, the NIA will monitor CAT-VI Battle Beacons, and the top 100 CAT-VI Battle Beacon participants will receive bonus Cygnus Tokens. A leaderboard will be published after the conclusion of the event. 2,000 Season Points will be distributed between the Factions according to the number of Battle Beacon Points claimed. Battle Beacon Points are awarded after every checkpoint of a Battle Beacon. One thing to note: During the event, the NIA will periodically post encrypted passcodes on social media. Redeeming the decrypted passcodes will award Rare Battle Beacons you can use for this event! There are no plans to lower the AP requirements that are currently in place to purchase Battle Beacons (1,200,000 AP for Rare Battle Beacons and 40,000,000 AP for Very Rare Battle Beacons). Niantic clarified a couple points for this Event, better detailing some rules. Here are the most notable changes: • Niantic clarified the requirement for the Cygnus Global Battles Medal tiers. Points have been replaced with Battle Beacon participations, meaning an Agent can obtain only 1 point towards the Medal from a single battle beacon. • The meaning of Interaction has also been clarified. An Interaction is defined as an action that contributes to increase the CAT of a Battle Beacon, as specified in their support article. • Finally, it was made explicit that Beacons deployed by NiaSection14 (those deployed at the end of a septicycle on Portals scanned 7 or more times) do count towards the scoring, both individual and of the Faction. Niantic announced the long awaited details about the main event for this Season: Cygnus Shard Storms! This event will be split across three days: October 17th, October 24th and November 21st. Each day, 6 cities worldwide will host 3 Shards for a total of 18 cities and 54 shards. Cities will be chosen 20 days prior to Event day, and will be highlighted on the Intel Map. Shards will jump on different timings. Shard 1 - every 30 minutes Shard 2 - two minutes after Shard 1 Shard 3 - two minutes after Shard 2 Jumps between 1 km and 5 km will award 5 Season Points. A single jump over 10 km will award 10 Season Points and will stop the Shard from scoring any more points. 35 Season Points are available per Shard, 105 Season Points per site, and 630 Season Points per Event Day. 1890 Season Points in total. Agents will be able to earn 2500 Cygnus Tokens by hacking a portal where a shard is present. During this event, three Campaigns will be available in parallel through Dispatch in your Scanner.
