The Jews are the descendants of the various Canaanite people, such as the Hittites, Jebusites, Edomites etc., with a mixture of an Asiatic people, the Khazars. None of these Canaanite people are descended from any of the tribes of Israel. In fact, the Jews are identified by our Redeemer Yahshua in John 8:44, as being the children of the devil.
M Perhaps some are, but not all. Yehudah was given the role of guarding the Torah through out the ages, so many are from that true bloodline. I think it is like the tares. We can't know for sure who is a tare and who is true wheat until the end. Same with the Yehudim. Y'shua was addressing the Pharasees, not all Jews, in John 8:44. Indeed, they appear to be Edomites or Khazars as they carried the Babylonian Talmud into their teachings and actions. All them had and have an equal chance to repent and become part of true Israel🙏🙏🙏

Could this explain the trend back to Isralite roots? Is it "DNA" that drives people to embrace the entire Biblical Law? Are they being drawn back as the fulfillment of Moses prophecy in Deuteronomy 4:27-31?

I recommend spending efforts researching about the migration patterns of the Israelites . There are many resources to access. I have a resource page I will share if anyone is interested.
YHWH tells us that Israel would be scattered to the four quarters of the earth and that they would become the "fullness of the Gentiles" in the latter days. This is happening before our eyes.
