On the one hand, some people argue that providing public libraries is unnecessary because the internet has made information much more accessible. Nowadays, people can find a wide range of books, articles and educational materials without visiting the libraries. Moreover, building libraries requires a lot of money for building materials, instead it could be spent on more essential areas such as education and healthcare centres.
On the other hand, public libraries still play an important role in providing equal access to information. Not everyone has a reliable Internet connection or can afford electronic devices and online resources. Libraries offer these people a free place to study, read books, and access educational materials. Furthermore, libraries can provide a quiet environment for students, which may help them concentrate on their studies more effectively.
