China just built something that feels like it jumped out of a sci-fi lab, a “smart head” that sits on your table and talks to you.
Not a robot. Not a screen. Just… a head. And it’s surprisingly advanced.
More human than it should be:
• Around 200 micro-expressions in the face
• A camera in each eye for real-time interaction
• Fully on-device processing, no cloud needed
• Weighs up to 18 kg (with a 3 kg core head)
• Even has a detachable face, you can swap out “skins”
It’s designed to look at you, react to you, and feel present.
😬 The problem: it’s a bit too real
At first glance, it sounds impressive. But then you imagine it sitting on your desk… staring… blinking… talking. And suddenly it feels less like a device and more like something your brain doesn’t quite trust.
