His argument is that people most at risk were mathematicians. At first, that sounded crazy. Today, it doesn’t. Math is almost the perfect playground for AI: • Every problem has a way to verify the answer. The model instantly knows if it’s right or wrong. • It can explore millions of possible solution paths in seconds, something no human can match. • The feedback loop is immediate. Find a proof, verify it, learn from it, repeat. That’s exactly the kind of cycle AI improves at incredibly fast. Writing is different. Good writing isn’t just about being correct. It’s about taste, context, emotion, timing, culture, and knowing what not to say. There isn’t always a single right answer, which makes improvement much messier. And now we’re seeing the evidence. AI is helping generate original mathematical proofs at a pace that would have seemed impossible just a few years ago.
