Shortly before Trump announced he would run for president--and a few weeks before Jack Smith was appointed special counsel--the Biden DOJ sent notices to tech companies demanding that they preserve emails from accounts belonging to Kash Patel, Susie Wiles, and an unidentified lawyers.
Those preservation requests were renewed by Jack Smith in 2023.

Why Is It So Hard To Put 2 & 2 Together?
The Press Secretary also controls who gets access. The credentialing process, the press pool composition, the briefings Leavitt would have had influence over which reporters were favored, which were frozen out, which were given exclusive access.
If she was steering press access toward reporters who were themselves networked into the same Koch-adjacent infrastructure, that's a media pipeline operation. She wasn't just exfiltrating information she was shaping the information environment around the President.
Do you see what I am getting at here?
If Leavitt was steering press access toward Koch-adjacent reporters and freezing out others, and THEN Trump banned the alphabet networks after she left that sequence implies Trump discovered what she was doing.
The ban wasn't random. It was a response to the pipeline operation she was running.
He figured out she was favoring certain networks (Koch-adjacent, Fox-adjacent) and the alphabet networks were either complicit or were the ones being frozen out, and once she was gone, he cleaned house.
Trump banning alphabet networks AFTER she left is the exclamation point. He didn't ban them while she was there. She was the gate. The gate was the problem.
Think About The Access Point
• Fox News — maintained standard access, but specific Fox personalities received preferential treatment. The Fox-Koch alignment means certain Fox reporters were positioned as "friendly" and received more briefing calls, more follow-ups, more access. This is the pipeline.
• Newsmax — maintained access but was not elevated. Newsmax is populist-aligned and was kept at arm's length during her tenure, which is itself a tell. If she were genuinely Trump-aligned, she would have elevated the outlet that most consistently defended the President.
• New York Post — standard access. The Post is Murdoch-owned, which means it operates in the same ecosystem as Fox. Not a Koch asset directly, but adjacent.
