Eli5: dxvk and proton versions and a couple other questions in the text. Getting back into Linux after a decade and I want to play games, but all of this is over my head
I'm following guides and it doesn't work sometimes. I don't know how to troubleshoot, because I don't know what any of this means. I used Linux back in high school and college, but I graduated college 10 years ago so a lot of this is new.My questions:what are the different versions of dxvk and proton and how do I know which to use? What's the difference between bottles and lutris? It seems like bottles is like a sandboxed container and I'm trying to play overwatch which is on a separate drive. I've been reading bottles are easier, but I don't believe I can run a game that's installed on a separate drive than my OS.Whats the difference between synaptic, flatpak, etc. I've been distrohopping and I'm pretty sure I settled on mint, but there's many different repositories (?) that downloads applications. Flatpak seems to be the one that gives me the most issues.Edit: Ryzen 5 and 3060 ti. I'm not sure if any of the questions need my specs to be answered, but that's what's in my computer
