MATH 322 - Mathematical Statistics Fall 2024 Durvudkhan Suragan The course is a blessing for people who prefer proofs over calculations. Prof. Suragan made an emphasis on proofs and problem solving, so try to understand all of the concepts, and learn the definitions. Exam review is usually ends in a week after the results are out, and moreover prof. Suragan is always hurry and the challenge is to catch him in the office if you need him. First half of the semester was the hardest, with huge focus shift towards chapter 5. He usually gives insights on the lectures. There was 1 bonus homework for 5%. The grades may be rounded to the nearest integer. Prof allowed makeup exams.

Hey guys, Another semester is almost done. For those who is slaying — well done, for others — at least it is close to the end. If you can summarize the exams and any other useful information for the courses please add it to the corresponding post. Note that many of the moodle pages of your courses will be deleted in about a month. upd. oh I forgot about the first anniversary 🥳 of the channel, hope it is helpful for y'all

MATH 351 - Numerical Methods with Applications Spring 2025 Yerlan Amanbek This is not a 3xx level course at all, it is much easier, especially with Prof. Yerlan. The course difficulty comparable to Calculus I. Exams closely follow past papers, with nearly identical questions and only minor number changes. Reviewing old exams is usually enough to score well. Attendance isn’t required, but lectures offer useful practical insights. Homework can be time-consuming but exactly the same as in previous years, you can ask friends for the past solutions. MATLAB Online is enough, and the final project is straightforward—try to team up with friends, but if you dont its fine the project is easy too. Prof. Yerlan has taught this course for three years (excluding summers). No curve. The lowest quiz was dropped. Recommended for CS students, as a tech elective.

MATH 490/491/492/682/702 - Applied Functional Analysis Spring 2025 Alejandro Javier Castro Castilla The easiest grade farm elective)) jk This is probably one of the most intense courses, right after Abstract Algebra II by Zhibek. It is recommended only for those planning to pursue a master’s or PhD in pure mathematics, as it truly helps deepen the understanding of the field of functional analysis. The entire content of the course should be considered essential knowledge for future mathematicians (though not necessarily for statisticians or applied mathematicians). Additional materials in the discussion.
