In 2016 a local Bolivian man found a small wild kitten in the woods and mistook it for a domestic cat. After briefly feeding it noodles and eggs, he realized it was a wild animal and brought it to the Senda Verde Wildlife Sanctuary.
Following years of DNA sequencing, researchers confirmed that the feline represents an entirely distinct evolutionary lineage that split from other tiger cats roughly 1.4 million years ago.
The Tilcayo tiger cat (Leopardus tilcayo) was formally announced to the world on September 17, 2026, when a groundbreaking study was published in the scientific journal Current Biology.
Weighs about 3 pounds (1.4 kg) and measures roughly 18 inches (46 cm) long, excluding its tail which makes them smaller than the average domestic house cat.

If you restrict voting to the educated or wise, the group in power will just define themselves as the smart ones and silence their opponents, the poor or minorities. Everyone has skin in the game. Even if a citizen lacks formal political training, they still feel the direct impact of taxes, laws and health policies. They deserve a say in their own lives. Modern democracies try to solve this by improving public education and free speech, rather than locking people out of the ballot box. But ideas vary even among educated people.
