I’ve used Avium, Lunaris 3.7, Infinity X, crDroid, Mica, LineageOS, and several other AOSP ROMs. Out of all of them, crDroid was the most stable and the one that worked the best overall, especially when it came to customization options. I used that ROM for about six months, but eventually I stopped using it because I noticed that it reduced the display quality. The system text, icons, and even full-screen videos didn’t look quite as sharp as they do on the stock ROM, even when everything was set to the highest resolution. I also found a modified ROM based on HyperOS 2. I tried it and absolutely loved it. It was smooth, stable, and very usable, and I didn’t run into any issues. I only used it for about a week—not because I had any problems with it, but because I wanted to try HyperOS 1 from the same developer. I decided to switch simply because I noticed that the ROM was a bit lighter, and I thought it might give me better performance. And honestly, I’m really happy with this ROM. It’s smooth and stable, has good performance and RAM management, and the battery life is great. The display quality doesn’t seem to be reduced either. All the other ROMs I tried had some kind of bug, with the exception of crDroid, which was by far the most stable and functional one and also had plenty of customization options. The only downside was the slight decrease in display/image quality compared to the stock ROM.

I mean that the image quality is a bit lower than on the stock ROM. In other words, the display looks like it’s running at less than 1080p and below 90Hz. I pay a lot of attention to those kinds of details. Even photos lose some quality, and the icons on the home screen don’t look as sharp as the display is originally capable of. That happened with every AOSP ROM I tried. Infinity X looked better, but that ROM has its own issues and isn’t as stable. Like I said, CrDroid was the best AOSP ROM I tried, but even that ROM lowers the display quality. I assume it’s done to optimize the system.

I agree then. I also use that, and even though the Android 16 isn't as fast as the older version of Android 13, in terms of usability, all the functions working well. I think it's better than HOS actually, because HOS can't adjust the volume without having a button. I want to make sure my volume button doesn't get damaged.
