is there a writeup by Stephen Tse outlining what happened? i cant find anything on his X in last year that talks about Harmony. who is the person in-charge for harmony (sorry, i have been missing in action myself :( )? how will Harmony team take responsibility of the negative fallouts (if any) of such rollback?
B
That message is not enough. Need clarity on what is the impact of all the genuine online transactions deposits/withdrawals after the mint event happened. I hope they don't get treated blindly as collateral damage. Even if that is the intention, all such scenarios need to be stated publicly for transparency
B
This article is out for a relatively long time now. It talks about Harmony is working on the approach with "validators". I have seen 0 relevant information here other than a simplistic wishlist outcome of reversing state. I can understand the challenges faced by a network with tiny market cap in trying to recover from this mess and I have no intention to cause more grief for anyone. I am just putting it out that if the solution is not wholesome, smart stake won't support it and will likely just step aside as a validator after notifying it's community
B
It's not for me to identify the scenarios that require solutioning. If the network is that inactive that there will be 0 negatively impacted genuine users in several hours of network operation after the exploit, that would imply the network is literally dead (which is not the case here). What is the assessment done by harmony team that makes it confident of rollback of thousands of blocks as a straight forward and legal activity to pursue without impacting legit users. Where are the details on impact on cex transactions by unsuspecting users (limit or direct buy orders)?
B
let's say: 1) i sent 100 ONE from an exchange to my harmony account post mint event (genuine user/wallet and not hacker related) -> who is responsible for emptying out my wallet on Harmony network -> who is accountable for making me whole? -> how many such users are impacted? is it 0? has anyone analyzed 2) same questions as above but replace "Exchange" with all the bridges (e.g. layerzero) that were seeing transactions every day prior to the hack.
B
There needs to be a very explicit documentation in every communication about this deeper patch that will make every good user whole (to the best of efforts) and a clear commitment on by when that patch will be done. for sure, you can outline the scenarios that you will cover or not cover. personally for smart stake, the rollback to pre-hack/pre-mint state is a non-starter without an explicit and clearly documented commitment for the 2nd patch.

Thanks for the post. Some followup questions : 1 - Has the independent reviewer released their report independently on their social media or website? If no, please Ask them to do so. If yes, please share link 2 - what is the position of all exchanges on the proposed approach? Can we get a table showing list of top exchanges by ONE volume, actively collaborating on this issue or not, accepted proposed solution or not? Are they also reverting their non blockchain transactions? 3 - the solution doesn't talk about how layerzero or other bridges will address the rollback. Sand details needed as 2 but for bridges.

Notice for Harmony stakers: If you are a harmony staker with smart stake, please note that while smart stake appreciates the difficult circumstances harmony protocol finds itself in and that they may have a small window to act, the details to rely on for deciding on the rollback are not enough for smart stake to support the path harmony network is taking as first step. There are likely no easy options here. As the network comes online, smart stake will stop it's node and sunset the validator. Please move your delegations to another validator that is aligned with your opinions on the journey of harmony network. Harmony community has given lots of love to smart stake and it has been an absolute pleasure to serve Harmonauts for the last 6+ years. Smart stake recognizes that the community still uses smart stake analytics. It will continue to support the dashboard for next few months. Best wishes to all the Harmonauts and the active team members of Harmony 🙏

Sorry to see you go @bigb4ever (but I understand) 👋 Just a shout out to the man that helped me right from the start, held my hand setting up my Validator and answered every silly question i asked (I still refer back to your notes when i am having an issue), @bigb4ever I appreciate everything you have done for me throughout the years ❤️🙏

What are the IOTX Staking rewards like now without Hermes?

So, will the rewards continue to be sent automatically?

Hey BigB, I think the total staked issue has been solved. Both are showing the same amount now. There are still differences when comparing individual delegates, but personally I wouldn't worry too much about it. Thanks for your time!

PSA for dYdX delegates: Due to the dYdX network reducing the active validator set to 21 validators, Smart Stake has fallen out of the active set. We recommend that delegators redelegate their DYDX to an active validator to continue earning staking rewards. We will keep the Smart Stake validator running for the next month and Smart Stake analytics will continue to be available at analytics.smartstake.io/dydx will keep running in the meantime. However, given the current validator set size and our stake position, the likelihood of Smart Stake returning to the active set is very low. Thank you to everyone who has supported and delegated to Smart Stake. https://x.com/SmartStake/status/2102215027566535113
