WaPo🚨: FDA official Vinay Prasad outlined stricter vaccine approval processes in an internal email Friday, concluding that COVID-19 vaccines contributed to at least 10 child deaths based on a review of 96 VAERS reports from 2021-2024.
Prasad proposed rethinking annual flu shot frameworks, scrutinizing multiple simultaneous vaccines, and requiring manufacturers to provide extensive safety and efficacy data—such as proving pneumonia vaccines reduce cases, not just antibodies—and rigorous studies for pregnant women.
“This is a profound revelation,” Prasad wrote. “For the first time, the US FDA will acknowledge that COVID-19 vaccines have killed American children.”
He added: “I remain open to vigorous discussions and debate,” while suggesting dissenting staff resign.
The changes, aligned with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s views, could delay approvals and novel vaccine development, per experts. Former FDA leaders and scientists, including Peter Hotez, emphasized existing rigorous evidence and rare adverse events, urging more data on the child deaths.
