Trump is using China as the boogeyman to push the SAVE America Act for expanded identity control. Here’s the possible agenda: 1. Manufacture a crisis to justify restrictions. (Election-security crisis) 2. Create administrative barriers that reduce participation through strict identity verification. (ID and document barriers) 3. Build a national voter-identity verification infrastructure through centralized cross-agency data integration. 4. Lay the foundation for digital ID by using document requirements to create demand for unified electronic verification. 5. Make states increasingly dependent on federal infrastructure, shifting control from state officials to the federal government. 6. Normalize AI decision-making across government. 7. Expand the system across different branches of society for the final goal of centralized digital control. The law does not have to say “digital ID” to create infrastructure that could later support one.
