⚖️ Indexing rewards on The Graph Network now pay for real work, not just presence. Previously, rewards were distributed based on curation signal and allocated stake meaning rewards were paid out even if an Indexer didn't serve a single query. In 2025 alone, 15.2% of rewards went to Indexers delivering zero active value. The Rewards Eligibility Oracle (REO) is now live to fix this. Key updates: • Service-Based Standards: Indexers must serve qualifying queries (HTTP 200, <5s response, within 50k blocks of chainhead) across at least 5 separate days in a rolling 28-day window. • Protection for Delegators: Ineligible Indexers have rewards paused (not slashed). Delegators can track their Indexer’s daily status and renewal streaks via a public dashboard. • Transparent & Safe: Open-source code, a 7-day automatic fail-safe fallback, and clear 14-day notice windows before criteria change. Total network issuance stays the same rewards simply go to the operators actively powering queries.
