As far as design part is concerned... You should have a rough idea on paper that I want to build this thing or feature.. Draw Out every feature / function you have in your mind, even you don't know how to make it.. Then start building. Leave space for not knowing things and build other things..

Now JS is there to support the design, not for making it complicated.. So you should start with brute force and then think about code optimisation like we do in leetcode or hackerank etc
