Tokenization is entering a more serious phase. The question is no longer simply whether assets can move on-chain. It is how blockchain can become part of real financial infrastructure. In the latest XDC MENA Podcast, Rebecah Dausen speaks with Adam Popat, CEO of SettleMint, about enterprise adoption, tokenized finance, and the intersection of blockchain and AI. BREAKING: Bitget confirms that more than $350 million worth of crypto was stolen following a major security breach. A massive hack has sent shockwaves across the crypto market.

Someone has emptied my D'Cent wallet. What can I do?
D
The main issue affecting D'CENT was a massive security vulnerability in its App Wallet (mobile application) that resulted in the theft of crypto assets worth nearly $20 million. The attack occurred in multiple consecutive waves between September 15 and September 25, 2026. Key Details of the Incident • Vulnerability in older versions: The exploit specifically targeted users running App Wallet versions prior to 8.1.0 (which was originally released in November 2025). The issue stemmed from a flaw in how these older versions managed or stored private keys within the software. • Compromised keys: Attackers managed to extract or gain prior access to users' private keys. When executing the theft, they generated valid, legitimate network signatures, meaning this was not an issue with the underlying blockchain networks, but rather a client-side compromise within the mobile application. • Scale of the damage: The automated and manual attack drained funds from more than 6,600 to 7,300 wallets. The stolen funds were quickly laundered by swapping them for other digital assets via decentralized protocols before being moved to centralized exchanges. • Hardware wallets remain safe: The manufacturer, IoTrust, clarified that physical biometric hardware devices (cold wallets) were not compromised. The only risk to a hardware wallet user was if they had manually imported their recovery seed phrase into the vulnerable mobile app. Safety Recommendations for D'CENT Users If you use this wallet, it is strongly advised not to interact with or send funds to old addresses that were linked to the mobile application. If you ever entered your recovery seed phrase directly into the smartphone app, you should generate a completely new wallet with a clean seed phrase and migrate your assets to keep them safe.

Thanks. Couldn’t we ask the xdc network to freeze the address for receiving the coins whilst we wait for a solution?
    1. C
Beware of anyone sending you DMs to offer support or assistance. They are scammers. Being a decentralized Network, XDC Network can not freeze any addresses. I don't know how long ago this exploit might have happened but the exploiter might have already sold and converted those XDCs to other assets.

The coins are still in the receiving address
        1. C
But still, there's nothing that can be done. You can follow the fund's trail through the explorer and if those ends up on some centralized exchange wallet, you can get in touch with the exchange and report the issue. Since majority of the exchanges are KYCed now, it gets easier to track the beneficiary. From there you might have to engage law enforcement agencies

How can I tell if a receiving address belongs to an exchange? Thanks
            1. C
A lot of exchange addresses have been tagged on the explorer. You'll have to follow the funds trail.

They have TG. I sent onto Mick. It’s a bit quiet though as most comms are via X space. There is a discord channel but mostly technical for node operators.
