Hey, Please could someone advise before going to vets Tomorrow morning. My little dog was sick a couple of times and a loosish poo with tiny bit of blood on 48 hours ago. She seemed to get much better no more sick and a couple of nearly perfect poos but went off her food again today only eating tiny piece of chicken about 2 hours ago seemed back to normal if not clingy but now just this minute passed blood instead of poo. I'm besides myself. I did catch her trying to eat something on the lawn this afternoon but grabbed what looked like and old piece of kibble.

I think it would be a good idea to have them checked if there is blood. Until then you could try slippery elm or marshmallow root to help soothe the GI tract. Could you let us know how the appointment goes? 🙏🏻

Thank you. Poops were fine last night but just found another she must have done this afternoon that was jelly and part blood. Thinking a long way back I had a dog with same symptoms when they bit open a bag of chicken poop so wondering if shes eaten bird poop I garden. They gave an injection I think and all was well so hoping same with this little one 🤞🤞🤞

Will try see if I have slippery elm at home.

My 14 yr old Icelandic sheepdog has had diarrhea since yesterday. We think maybe it was the sardines? Just a morsel or two…. And home remedies I could try?

Money, consider a custom formulated food from PetPlate. Changed our 7 year old cockapoo's life completely. He eats every day now, better poops and tons more energy. Expensive though.

We tried Farmers Dog but the fat content was too high and caused intestinal blockages. PetPlate solved that problem for him.

Update on my cat : xrays happened today - it was dislocated.. they popped it back in and bandaged it up but think it will be likely to pop out once she's mobile.. but they don't know.. it's a load bearing toe. they suspect it will need surgery.. getting advice from specialist tomorrow.. she will be home this afternoon. She will be given meloxicam - when can I start using dmso spray? Is there any issue with her licking it off?

Thanks for that 🙏 I like the idea of something specifically for animals, so have ordered the tincture to see if it works. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Was the injection an antibiotic? My cat had similar tummy problems, of unknown cause - maybe a different food fed while I was away. Bright red blood is fresh blood, from the lower bowel. A probiotic for cats and slippery elm (as Mama B suggested) helped her. It took a little while. Bland food too. No harm in continuing a probiotic and slippery elm. Hope she feels better soon. Such a worry.

Any recommendations for a dog diagnosed with Cushing disease? Anything I can do naturally to help?

Vet gave a steriod injection, 5 days steroids and probiotics and 3 hours later back to normal (not sure what poop will be yet though). Thank you for replying. Was wary about using slippery elm on this occasion as wasnt sure if the little madam had swelled a piece of shell from a nut. Time before another dog 15 years previous vet gave full caboodle antibiotics the lot. We are changing food though now.

Pushed vet for AM appointment as little dog was getting low in herself and vet gave steroid injection/tabs plus probiotics. She back to herself and eating already. No more kibble. Thought I had slippery elm in however was reluctant to use it as I found a small half of nut shell in madams bed so could potentially eaten other half. All well thank goodness after a shaky night for us both. Thank you for your kind suggestion shall get some.
