FSS-1 Launch: First 43,500-tonne vessel enters the Bay of Bengal just 18 months post steel cutting. FSS-5 Keel Laying: Signals steady momentum in the five-ship series production for the Indian Navy. Yard Modernization: Upgraded Slipway-4 and 300T Goliath crane enable construction of ships up to 45,000 DWT.

Participation: 92 personnel with equal strength from India's Bhairav Battalion and UAE's Mountain Infantry Battalion, including women combatants. Raksha Mantri to Mark 2,000th Aero-Engine Delivery, Launch Second Shakti Line at HAL Koraput Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will mark the milestone delivery of the 2,000th aero-engine at HAL Koraput, Odisha, celebrating six decades of defense manufacturing excellence. Key Milestone: Marks delivery of the 2,000th engine, boosting armed forces' operational readiness. Infrastructure Expansion: Sets up a second Shakti engine line with ₹218 crore investment. Platform Support: Powers indigenous Dhruv (ALH) and Prachand (LCH) helicopters. Strategic Vision: Drives India's shift to a defence designer and developer.

Astra Mk-1 Extended to 160 km and Astra Mk-2 Completes Developmental Testing to Enter User Evaluation India's DRDO is accelerating upgrades across the indigenous Astra Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) family to strengthen aerial superiority. Following the operational success of the Mk-1, its strike envelope is being expanded up to 160 km, while the advanced Astra Mk-2 has wrapped up its developmental tests and is slated for IAF user trials. Meanwhile, DRDO has launched work on the ramjet-powered Astra Mk-3 (Project Gandiva) to hit targets beyond 300 km.
