Worth understanding Arthur Hayes' latest letter if you haven't read it yet.
His core argument: the AI buildout isn't a tech investment, it's a real estate play. Hyperscalers are borrowing trillions to build data centers full of chips that will depreciate fast. When the growth rate of AI spending starts slowing (he thinks 2027-2028), the debt doesn't slow with it, and that's when things crack.
The government will bail it out, because AI has been framed as a national security issue. That bailout means money printing bigger than 2008. And historically, that's been the best environment for Bitcoin.
He's also bullish on ETH near term around the real-world asset tokenization narrative, with a rough $5k target by end of 2026.
Bottom line: the bubble isn't over, but understand why it ends and make sure you're positioned in crypto before the bailout hits.

🏛️ Inside the room: what really happened at Trump's White House crypto summit
Yesterday, Trump sat down with Bessent, Lutnick, SEC Chair Atkins, CFTC Chair Selig, plus Armstrong, Tenev, Garlinghouse, the Winklevoss twins, and more.
The line from our writeup: "crypto policy is no longer a talking point, it's an active build."
Key moment: Trump said the CFTC is working to bring Hyperliquid into the US market legally.
"Within minutes of the remark circulating, HYPE spiked roughly 20%, running from about $62 to a high near $72."

Bitcoin update: we're trading around $78.5k-79k right now, having tapped close to 80k over the weekend. Worth sitting with this one for a minute because the technicals here are genuinely notable, not just another green candle.
The move itself: this past week's candle is the biggest weekly gain since 2023, up roughly 23%. For context, that puts it in the same tier as the moves that marked the end of prior bear phases in 2019 and 2023. BTC ran from around $62k to a weekly high near $79.5k before settling. Along the way it broke through a descending trendline that had capped every rally since last September, and it reclaimed the 200 day moving average, which is a meaningful structural shift, not just short term noise.
What's driving it: a big piece of this was a short squeeze. Open interest had built up heavily on the short side after weeks of range compression, and when the move started, over $4 billion in short positions got liquidated, which added fuel on top of the initial buying. But it's not purely a leverage story. Spot ETF inflows just posted their strongest week of 2026, over $1.9 billion, the biggest since October when BTC was near its all time high. That's real capital coming in alongside the squeeze, which matters for whether this holds.
Where it needs to go next: I want to see BTC consolidate in the high 70s rather than immediately blast through 80k. A move this fast and this large benefits from digesting before continuing. Daily RSI is sitting up around 82-84, which is stretched, so some sideways chop or a pullback into the mid-to-high 70s wouldn't be a bad thing, it would actually be healthier than an immediate breakout that gets rejected and dumps back down.
Levels to watch: high 70s is the zone that needs to hold as support. If it consolidates there and builds a base above the 200 day, that's a strong setup for continuation toward and eventually through 80k. If it loses that level and slips back under the 200 day, that tells us this move needs more tim
