Majority there's no custom roms available for Android TV because it's not worth getting and since it's meant for streaming, developers are not interested and it's waste of time. But here's a Android upgrade twist. There are stock modified roms that feature removed bloatwares, system tweaks, Pre installed apps to customize TV and other stuff. Depends on the device development activity. This is not custom rom. But many TV box roms are ported from other TV box device. It means that if your GPU and CPU matches specs from another android TV device you can attempt to flash that firmware at your own risk. Always flash the firmware manual when testing a rom it means that extracting the firmware to individual files. Boot, system, userdata, etc from the single firmware file. The reason to manual flash a unknown firmware is to test the compatibility with your own device and if you attempt to flash a unknown firmware using this method you could test the rom and never have a bricked device. The manual flashing method is only to prevent flashing the bootloader. ⏺ you can test many RoMs as you want and find a suitable upgrade without bricking. 🏮 Automatic flashing rom In Automatical mode you are one-click to flash the full firmware including the bootloader, but if you flash the unknown firmware without testing the manual flashing method you will end up damaging the bootloader and it will be undetectable by the USB flasher or sdcard. ⏺This method is best when the firmware is confirmed booting or official ROM and is compatible with your device including the bootloader version, and it's ram type ( ddr, ddr2, ddr3) In its bootloader manifest. If you end up bricking device, there's an hardware level self Repair guide that requires micro soldering skills and soldering kit. This Repair guide has no parts replacement and can be done at home.
