Etherspot explains: EIP-8223 EIP-8223 introduces a new transaction type where a contract can pay gas on behalf of a sender, but only in a very specific, controlled way. Instead of adding complex logic, EIP-8223 keeps things simple. The contract you’re calling can pay gas, but only when the transaction is sent directly to it. So tx.to becomes both the execution target and the gas payer. It works with a two-sided opt-in: - the contract explicitly approves a sender (via a registry), - and the sender chooses to use a sponsored transaction. One of the key design choices here is static validation. Instead of executing custom logic in the EVM, it relies on standard account reads and a registry check. This helps preserve compatibility with Ethereum’s current design while avoiding added complexity. Gas handling stays unchanged via EIP-1559. The contract fronts the cost, and any unused gas is refunded back to it. The proposal isn’t trying to compete with broader ideas like Frame Transactions. It’s a narrower approach, useful in cases where simple sponsorship is enough. 👉 Read more in the proposal draft: https://eip.tools/eip/8223

Etherspot explains: EIP-7851 EIP-7702 introduced delegated EOAs, allowing regular Ethereum accounts to adopt smart account functionality. EIP-7851 builds on that idea by proposing a protocol-level mechanism that allows delegated EOAs to disable their original ECDSA signing authority. The goal is simple: reduce the risks of keeping the original EOA key active after delegation, especially in multi-chain setups where the same ECDSA key may control accounts across multiple EVM networks. The proposal is evolving through ongoing Ethereum research and core-dev discussions. The latest design update introduces SETSELFDELEGATE(delegate_address), a self-only opcode that allows delegated wallet code to write the 0xef0101 || delegate_address marker. This permanently disables residual ECDSA authority while still allowing wallet code to update the delegate in ECDSA-disabled mode. One of the key ideas behind the design is that delegated wallet code, not the original EOA key, should control when the transition is finalized. At a broader level, EIP-7851 reflects a growing push toward making delegated EOAs behave less like partially upgraded EOAs and more like fully transitioned programmable accounts. Etherspot explains: ERC-8286 ERC-7579 introduced a modular smart account architecture, allowing developers to extend accounts with reusable validators, executors, hooks, and other modules. ERC-8286 brings that modular account model to EIP-8141 Frame Transactions, Ethereum's proposed native account abstraction model. Rather than creating a separate module system for Frame Transactions, it reuses ERC-7579 and adds only the validation flow they need. Validators return an approval mode that tells the account how to handle validation within the verification frame. The broader goal is a portable module ecosystem. A validator, executor, or hook written once can be reused across wallets and account abstraction implementations, whether they're built around ERC-4337 or EIP-8141. 📚 Learn more: https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-8286
