It's a good idea, and we've thought about it as well.
While phones aren't suitable for hosting storage nodes, they could contribute in other ways in the future, such as lightweight distributed computing tasks, bandwidth sharing, or participating in parts of the network that don't require always-on storage. It's definitely something we'll explore as the ecosystem grows.
