Token Security 🦴We knew this already
Services being allowed to continue in Netherlands was indicative of incoming approval. Them being suspended now tells me something else
We are writing with an important update specifically for clients resident in the Netherlands.
As you may be aware, we recently informed clients outside the Netherlands that fiat on- and off-ramp services would need to be temporarily suspended while we complete the MiCA authorisation process.
Unfortunately, due to the applicable MiCA regulatory deadline, and our application still being considered, we must now extend this temporary measure to clients resident in the Netherlands as well.
With effect from July 17th 23:59, clients in the Netherlands will be unable to buy cryptocurrencies using fiat currency or sell cryptocurrencies for fiat currency through Nash Exchange BV until further notice.
We appreciate that this is disappointing news, particularly because Netherlands-based clients were not affected by the restriction communicated previously. This is not a decision we have taken lightly. The measure is necessary to ensure that our services remain compliant with the regulatory requirements applicable under MiCA while Nash Exchange BV’s authorisation process is ongoing.
We consider this suspension to be temporary. We remain actively and constructively engaged with the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets, the AFM, and continue to work towards completing the authorisation process as soon as possible. However, the timing and outcome of that process ultimately remain subject to the AFM’s review, and we are therefore unable to provide a definitive date for the restoration of the affected services.
What does this mean for you?
From July 17th 23:59, clients resident in the Netherlands will temporarily be unable to:
buy cryptocurrencies using fiat currency; or
sell cryptocurrencies in exchange for fiat currency.
All other services remain unaffected and will continue to operate as usual. This includes Nash IBAN accounts, Nash cards, Nash’s non-custodial wallet functionality and DEX.
What happens to the funds in my Nash wallet?
Nothing changes in relation to assets held
