*Honoured on Teachers’ Day for Contribution to Education and Social Outreach*
I am deeply honoured to receive the “Shikshak Vandan evam Samman – 2026” award organised by the National Democratic Teachers Front (NDTF) at Ramjas College, University of Delhi, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
The programme was graced by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ Ji, former Union Education Minister and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, as the Chief Guest. It was a privilege to receive the honour from him.
The recognition was given for my contribution to education, research, social outreach and nation-building, particularly through NEEV (National Education Enrichment In Villages)—an initiative working towards providing free education and modern digital and technological learning opportunities to children from rural and underserved communities.
I firmly believe that the true purpose of education extends beyond classrooms and laboratories. Knowledge becomes meaningful when it reaches those who need it the most.
I sincerely thank NDTF, its office bearers and all the distinguished academicians and educators present at the समारोह for this recognition. This honour strengthens my resolve to expand our efforts towards making quality education accessible to more children and contributing to a more educated, empowered and inclusive society.
Education is not merely the transfer of knowledge; it is the creation of possibilities for a better future.

सामाजिक शिक्षा के प्रयासों को सम्मान: NEEV के राष्ट्रीय समन्वयक डॉ. उपदेश वर्मा ‘समाज गौरव सम्मान-2026’ से सम्मानित
नींव (14 -28 सितंबर 2026), हिंदी पखवाड़ा।
समाज के गाँवों एवं सुदूर क्षेत्रों में शिक्षा की पहुँच बढ़ाने, जरूरतमंद बच्चों को निःशुल्क शिक्षा उपलब्ध कराने तथा शिक्षा के प्रति जन-जागरूकता पैदा करने के निरंतर प्रयासों के लिए NEEV के राष्ट्रीय समन्वयक डॉ. उपदेश वर्मा को *“स्वर्गीय पवन कुमार कंसल स्मृति समाज गौरव सम्मान-2026”** से सम्मानित किया गया।
यह सम्मान शुभम् साहित्य, कला एवं संस्कृति संस्थान, गुलावठी, बुलंदशहर द्वारा हिन्दी दिवस के अवसर पर आयोजित *शुभम् महोत्सव-2026* में प्रदान किया गया। समारोह का आयोजन 14 सितंबर 2026 को श्री परशुराम भवन में किया गया।
डॉ. उपदेश वर्मा को यह सम्मान विशेष रूप से NEEV के माध्यम से गाँवों एवं सुदूर क्षेत्रों में चलाए जा रहे निःशुल्क शिक्षा कार्यक्रमों तथा शिक्षा से वंचित एवं जरूरतमंद वर्गों के बीच शिक्षा के प्रति जागरूकता उत्पन्न करने के कार्यों के लिए प्रदान किया गया।
NEEV द्वारा शिक्षा को समाज के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक पहुँचाने के उद्देश्य से विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में निरंतर प्रयास किए जा रहे हैं। इन प्रयासों के अंतर्गत ऐसे बच्चों और परिवारों तक शिक्षा की पहुँच बनाने पर जोर दिया जा रहा है, जहाँ संसाधनों के अभाव में गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा प्राप्त करना कठिन होता है। साथ ही, अभिभावकों एवं स्थानीय समुदाय को शिक्षा के महत्व, बच्चों की शिक्षा तथा उनके उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए शिक्षित होने की आवश्यकता के प्रति जागरूक करने का कार्य भी किया जा रहा है।
डॉ. उपदेश वर्मा ने कहा कि *“शिक्षा केवल विद्यालय की चारदीवारी तक सीमित नहीं होनी चाहिए। समाज के गाँवों, दूरस्थ क्षेत्रों और उन परिवारों तक शिक्षा पहुँचाना आवश्यक है, जहाँ इसकी सबसे अधिक आवश्यकता है। NEEV का प्रयास है कि शिक्षा के माध्यम से बच्चों और समुदायों में जागरूकता, आत्मविश्वास और आगे बढ़ने के अवसर पैदा किए जाएँ।”**
उन्होंने इस सम्मान के लिए *शुभम् साहित्य, कला एवं संस्कृति संस्थान* का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि यह सम्मान व्यक्तिगत उपलब्धि से अधिक NEEV से जुड़े सभी कार्यकर्ताओं, स्वयंसेवकों और उन सभी सहयोगियों का सम्मान है, जो शिक्षा को समाज के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक पहुँचाने के प्रयास में
