I'd also like to know if the founder, Dawn Song, now vice president of Meta AI Research and a leading security specialist, has any other connection to the project. Or did she leave the project after unlocking her share of the tokens? Because I couldn't find a single tweet from her in the last two years.

This is a decentralised blockchain protocol, not a company. So, "profits" and "reserves" are not applicable like centralized structured business in a traditional sense. I will log in the query on my report for a full explanation by the core team.

It has been answered many times before that Prof Dawn Song is very much a part of Oasis in the foundational sense but she, being an academic and researcher, is not part of operational side. That part has always been Jernej Kos's responsibility. That is why not hearing from her does not mean anything that you try to insinuate, so such misinformation like " leave the project after unlocking her share of the tokens" is a form of fear, uncertainty, doubt that is strictly unacceptable and punishable according to chat rules.

I'd also like to know what happened to Oasis Labs, the company founded by Dawn Song. According to tokenomics, they had a significant stake in tokens, but there has been no news or updates for the past two years since that stake was unlocked. There's a lot of conflicting information on social media about this, and it really seems very strange, considering that for asking about the founder, Dawn Song, I actually received a warning that I might have been banned.

you speculated about her leaving the project after unlocking her share of the tokens, that is misinformation and potentially spreading uncertainty and doubt among community members who read your comment, hence the warning to ban, not because you asked about prof Song.

This has also been previously addressed that Oasis Labs is a separate entity. Prof Song is involved with both. We are not responsible for sharing news and updates regarding them. I have seen some of the reports where people confuse Oasis Labs and Oasis Protocol but we have explained anyone who really wants to know and asks us that they are different. Having the same co-founder and some areas of alignment like privacy and security, might be why confusion. Simply stated, Labs work in research and enterprise-level applications and Protocol, that is us, are in blockchain, web3 and AI applications and how privacy is related to this.

Why are you accusing me of speculation if it's not speculation, but information reported to me by the AI analysis system?! Furthermore, I checked the token economy, time token locks, and asked to find Dawn Song's recent tweets, given her high activity outside of Oasis.

I do not want to argue with you, you seem to want a fight. Anything "reported by the AI analysis system" might not be gospel truth. Most AI models I know declare they can make mistakes, so basing your comments on that and then trying to assume and justify that as truth is "speculating".

From the information I found in open sources, the main founding figure of Oasis Protocol is considered to be Dawn Song through Oasis Labs (2018). The rest of the people are either co-founders of Labs or early key engineers/leaders of the Foundation. Therefore, I don't understand why you are responding so aggressively and ignoring the fact that the founding company is inactive. I can make a guess that Labs no longer exists, since it has not been active for several years, but judging by your answers, you deny this, stating that you are not responsible for this.

No aggression here — just correcting misinformation in a community channel, which is my job as a mod. To clarify the facts: Prof Dawn Song is indeed a primary founder via Oasis Labs (2018). That's not in dispute. As I already stated, Oasis Labs and Oasis Network/Foundation are separate entities. Labs was the initial research and development company. The Oasis Foundation is the independent entity that governs the protocol today. Labs becoming less publicly active does not mean the protocol is inactive. The network is live, actively developed, and the foundation is operational. These are verifiable on-chain and via official channels — not subject to interpretation. When you talk about "information reported by AI analysis system" and then "open source information" this is where I draw the line, as such sources are often not verified facts and thus carry real risk of spreading doubt based on guesswork in the community.

I’m not here to attack anyone or speculate. I’m a large investor who is studying the project. I’m simply pointing out questions that deserve clarification, and unfortunately, I’m not satisfied with the answers. If you believe that the publicly available information is not accurate or has been misinterpreted, then the team should address these uncertainties and publish the correct information through open, publicly accessible sources, rather than only clarifying it in this group, in order to rebuild trust. All the best to everyone.

There is an inherent trust problem in AI – it is called data sovereignty. There are policies in place that promise privacy, but practically no guardrails. It is “trust me, bro” all over again. But what we need is “trust but verify”. Solution: confidential computation in secure enclaves, verifiable, tamper-proof, and with reproducible attestation. https://x.com/OasisProtocol/status/2082707772064551033

My last share for today is an invitation to deep dive into the world of privacy and podcasts. The latest Privacy Talks episode deep dives into several insightful topics:  Web3 beyond DeFi and DePIN, and the role of privacy  Your public posts are training Grok by default  Siri is now running on Google Gemini  GitHub Copilot’s token billing soars up to 25x To learn about all of these and more, choose your platform and do a deep dive into the discussion.
