This Week in the New Normal – 9/11 Anniversary Edition It was a busy weekend of 9/11 talking points – both for truthers and “debunkers”, and quite a revealing one. Situation Report So it’s been ten years since I started writing these essays. I don’t know how many I’ve written at this point, probably over two hundred. I’m not going to count. I started out publishing them on my blog, Consent Factory, and submitting them to CounterPunchback in 2016. Surface Thinking People don’t care because they don’t know. Simple as that. I know I’ve been through this a million times, but I just don’t think I’ve nailed it. Maybe now. It’s nuance, still, but it’s something more than I have written about before. My stepson got married a few weeks ago, and I officiated the ceremony. Quick Take…Bibi’s Bad Week It’s been a busy week for things not happening. On Sunday, we were treated to a “terrorist bomb plot” that didn’t actually happen. In the US, the media is in full witch-hunt mode over an alleged gang-rape that, increasingly, looks like it didn’t happen. The Light Between the Leaves Autumn in Canada reminds us of why some of us will never leave. Not for love, nor money, nor politics. It is the landscape that raised us, and we cannot go far from where the fields and forests and oceans nurtured our childhoods and fed our souls. It is not so for everybody who was raised in cities.
