Hello, I am contacting you as a regular Organic Maps user and a frequent long-distance cyclist. I would like to suggest an idea that I believe could be very useful for many cyclists: adding the ability to create or select cycling routing profiles directly within Organic Maps. Today, I often use specific profiles through the BRouter website to generate GPX files, which I then transfer into Organic Maps. This method works very well, but it requires using an external tool before being able to use the route in the app. It would be very helpful to have the option to choose default cycling profiles directly in Organic Maps, or to gradually customize profiles depending on the type of bike and use case: mountain bike, road bike, touring bike, loaded or unloaded bike, etc. The open-source profiles available on BRouter are already very effective and could be a very interesting starting point: https://brouter.m11n.de I believe this feature would add real value to Organic Maps and make life much easier for cyclists who use the app for travelling, planning, or following routes. Thank you very much for your work and for considering this suggestion.

🔵 Joe234: Hello, Organic Maps kind of supports geo: URI , which is good. But most messengers like Signal and WhatsApp are not supporting it. Some links to issues or bug reports: https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Android/pull/14838 https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-website/issues/1315 https://bugs.telegram.org/c/9780 Maybe some here in this group are motivated to push the topic a little!? 🙂 I hope thats not too much off topic... :) Explanation: The geo: URI scheme is a standard that simplifies sharing of locations. Most people share links to Google Maps but thats very annoying if you don't use google maps. The geo URI scheme would be a great alternative. ...if messengers would support it.

🟦 andreas_stuff: As I know, not each release of lineageOS works with each hardware. Some smartphones can use GPS with lineageOS, other devices (or lineage releases) have problems with it. Please check your lineage release, if the GPS-sensor is supported.
