Over the past two years, STUDYO has put up 27 concerts featuring more than 100 student-artists, creating opportunities for NUS students to perform whilst nurturing a tightly knit music community on campus. 🎶 Founded by Low Tse Han and Kashfy Ilxilim Bin Zulkarna’in, both final-year students at the College of Design and Engineering, the student-led platform received support from third space after the two spotted a gap for students beyond established arts groups to perform on campus. For their efforts, STUDYO received the Community Engagement (Merit) award at the NUS Achievement Awards 2025. 🏆 Full story here. Don't miss NEBULA, their music festival at UTown next Thu evening.

On 23 Sept, 120 residential life practitioners from NUS, NTU, SMU and SUTD came together at the ResLife Symposium 2026, on the theme “Inclusive Leadership for Diverse Communities in Hostels”. A few ideas that stayed with us: 🧪 Diverse communities don’t blend by chance. Like an emulsion, they need a “surfactant”, and that’s the role residential life practitioners play - Prof Ho Han Kiat, Dean of Students. 👀 Showing up isn’t the same as belonging. A student can attend every event and still feel on the margins ❓ “Who isn’t here?” Instead of asking why some students don’t participate, ask what barriers might be getting in the way. Read the full story here. 🔗
