Yes the fruit of our salvation should be good works, but there is no work involved in keeping salvation. Otherwise you're saying what Jesus Christ did wasn't enough, that you have to add to his sacrifice. And that's not what the gospel says. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 says believe in what Jesus Christ did and you're saved. You don't have to keep being a good boy and girl to keep salvation, being a good person and doing good works should just come naturally after being saved by GRACE (which is a gift, which means you don't have to pay to keep it because it's a gift not a rental) through faith in the sacrifice that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has made for us.
