About integrity: I have no idea if it works, and I don't care as long as my bank apps are working. I suggest to not test integrity yourselves: you feed the Google ai with every single test...

Keeping up with integrity is a full-time job and I do not bother any longer. But as for getting certain banking apps to work, I'd just point out that I believe Magisk Alpha + PIF + HMA are doing the heavy lifting here. I just configured some other older phones and arrived at this conclusion.
I've seen you've replied to a post of mine dated back more than a year ago and yes, it's way too expensive in terms of effort, I hear you and understand you.
However, as an update, the phone I prepared back then is still alive and functioning with banking apps; also, worth to notice, I didn't update any module whatsoever since then.

No, not experiencing lags, but it's also true I am in my 40s, so no gaming in there, just some home assistant, youtube, movies, internet, emails, occasional videos/photos/calls and driving navigation. Memory in my case is 64GB + 128GB sd card, definitely more than I would ever want on a mobile device in terms of personal data.
LOS20-21 for me is not a valid comparison because my LOS21 is heavily patched to support banking-like apps: it literally is a security nightmare with a phone around it.. it is also entirely de-googled. So I am using LOS21 way less than LOS20, in which the battery (still original from 2016!) lasts say a day. If I really need to find something bad, is the camera, it tends to crash often.
On LOS20 I am trying to get rid of Google as well, replacing Play store with Aurora store and Google Photos with Ente, Gmail with Protonmail; still didn't find anything as good as Google Maps tho.
Fun fact: my wife is on this very device as well, LOS18.1!
