Why would you want to put a QListView inside of a QScrollView?
The ListView is already a scroll area.
I think probably what's happening is that the QListView is expanding to the maximum size of the list that it contains (showing all elements), which you don't see because it's within the QScrollView - however the QListView doesn't know it's not visible, so all items are loaded.
Just use the QListView by itself, not embedded in a QScrollView.
