Qt for Python (PySide/Shiboken)

Hello. What's the best way to handle file URI coming from a QML FileDialog in PySide6? On Linux It returns file:///home/blabla/etc/file.json how would I go around making it an actual path in Python, preferably working on all platforms? I guess basically equivalent of https://stackoverflow.com/a/50811629/1018051 but in Python?
