Qt for Python (PySide/Shiboken)

Hi, I'm able to change the color of a Qtableview header background and the background for the same table (the empty space without cells), but not at the same time. The style sheet seems to ignore one of them. I've tried declaring the properties in my code and in the stylesheet editor in designer. I've read the documentation and couldn't find an example of this, stackoverflow only addresses one or the other.. any advice?
