Qt for Python (PySide/Shiboken)

okay so im having some trouble implementing a screenshot type feature in my app so my app is essentially a system-wide colorpicker, you can see here how I grab the screen and how I use paintEvent to draw my widget: https://github.com/transistxr/colorpycker/blob/main/src/colorpycker/floatingwidget.py i want to make this work on wayland, i tried the d-bus implementation but 1) qt complains about recursive paint because im using an event loop inside an event loop? 2) it's really slow because it has to wait for a response instead of it being on-demand I'm kind of stuck here and im p sure i don't know enough to move forward so ill need to be enlightened on how to figure this out and i might be missing something really fundamental https://github.com/transistxr/colorpycker/blob/wayland_screengrab/src/colorpycker/screenshot.py
